Why Jonesing for Good

We see wealth as a way to embolden what matters in the world.

01 · Nonprofit Agnostic

We follow your values, not relationships.

We have no affiliation with any nonprofit organization. Every recommendation we make begins and ends with your values, your legacy goals, and the evidence of organizational effectiveness, never with who called us first. This is rare. It matters.

02 · Inside Knowledge

We know how nonprofits actually work.

With over a decade in nonprofit advancement and university fundraising, Morgen Marshall understands these organizations from the inside, governance, financial health, leadership, program delivery, and what high-functioning boards look like. This changes the quality of every recommendation.

03 · Collaborative by Design

Your existing advisors stay central.

We don't replace your financial advisor, estate attorney, or CPA, we work alongside them. Our role is to bring nonprofit expertise and philanthropic strategy into the room so your full advisory team can make better-informed decisions together.

04 · Values Over Transactions

Wealth is more than a tax strategy.

Most giving is reactive, driven by direct asks and personal relationships. We believe wealth can be a genuine force for what matters in the world, and that strategic philanthropy is how you harness that potential. We help you move from reactive to intentional.

The Case for Strategy
"Most giving is reactive — driven by who asked, not why it matters."

Strategic philanthropy means your generosity is guided by your values, backed by independent research, and measured by real outcomes. That is what Jonesing for Good is built to deliver.

Our Services

Align. Curate. Steward.

Three ways to work together. All priced on a flat-fee or retainer basis, never as a percentage of your giving.

Align
01

Align

We explore your values, giving history, financial capacity, and goals in depth. You receive a written Philanthropic Plan built around who you are, what you want your giving to accomplish, and where it fits within your broader financial picture. Financial advisor coordination is included where relevant.

Curate
02

Curate

Translation of strategy into a decision-ready giving plan. We surface relevant organizations and build an initial nonprofit list with recommended fund amounts and gift structures. A working session with you refines the direction. We then conduct deep due diligence on the organizations you select, reviewing financials, leadership, program fit, and impact. The final deliverable includes your vetted nonprofit portfolio, recommended gift amounts, structures, and expected impact, plus an implementation handoff session. You leave Curate with a complete plan you can execute independently or carry forward into Steward.

Steward
03

Steward

For clients who want a dedicated partner after Curate is complete. Steward is where execution lives. We work alongside your financial advisor to move gifts from intent to completion, manage ongoing nonprofit relationships, gather and synthesize impact data into a readable report, meet quarterly to keep your giving on track, and refresh your strategy annually. Available on a monthly retainer.

How we vet nonprofits: Form 990 analysis, audited financials, leadership assessment, program outcome review, and Charity Navigator cross-referencing, plus AI-assisted research to surface organizations traditional shortlists miss. We utilize technology yet lean on human inquiry to validate recommendations. We go where the data leads, not where relationships pull.

Who This Is For

For philanthropists, aspiring and established, who want more than just a tax deduction.

Our clients wish to bring the same rigor to their philanthropy as they do to every other major financial decision in their lives. They also understand that wealth should be anchored in core values.

01

The Impact-Focused Donor

You're giving generously, but you want evidence it's working. Not thank-you letters. You want to understand, with specificity, what your giving accomplishes in the world. You also want confidence that your giving continues to reflect your values and legacy goals as they evolve over time.

02

The Legacy Builder

You're building an estate plan and want your legacy to reflect your values through charitable giving. You need vetted organizations you can trust, institutions that will be healthy and mission-driven in the decades ahead. Your legacy deserves more than a name on a check.

03

The Strategic Giver

You have a DAF, a foundation, or significant annual giving capacity. You're ready to move from reactive, relationship-driven giving to a structured strategy built around your values, one that integrates with your full financial and estate plan.

Your Advisory Partner

Another seat at your wealth advisory table.

Most wealth management practices don't include a dedicated philanthropic advisor, and most donors are relying on relationship-driven giving rather than values-driven strategy.

We change that. We work hand-in-hand with existing advisors, bringing nonprofit expertise and philanthropic strategy into the conversation. This allows financial advisors, estate attorneys, and CPAs to focus on what they do best and better serve clients with charitable expertise.

"We are not duplicating or competing with anyone on your team. We are purely complementary, with your values and your legacy at the center of everything."

For more than a decade, I worked inside nonprofit organizations, in advancement, fundraising, and external relations. I know what it looks like when a nonprofit thrives, and I know the warning signs when it doesn't.

We work alongside your team, not around it. Our fee model, flat fee and retainer, never a percentage of giving, keeps our incentives fully aligned with your client's outcomes.

Research shows that 80% of major gifts come from direct asks. Strategic philanthropy is about right-sizing that dynamic, so giving is driven by values and impact, not someone else's fundraising cycle.

About Morgen

I've sat on both sides of the table.

Wealth Advisor · Nonprofit Connector · Giving Strategist

For more than a decade, I worked inside nonprofit organizations, in advancement, fundraising, and external relations, most recently as Assistant Dean of Advancement and External Relations at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I know what it looks like when a nonprofit thrives, and I know the warning signs when it doesn't.

I founded Jonesing for Good because I saw a gap: high-capacity donors who care deeply but lack a trusted, independent guide to help them give with intention and confidence. Someone who isn't trying to sell them anything, doesn't represent any organization, and is motivated entirely by one thing, the impact their generosity can have in the world.

I believe wealth is one of the most powerful tools for good that exists. I also believe most people are not using it as strategically as they could be, not because they lack generosity, but because no one has ever given them the framework to do it differently.
